MMA Capital Management: New subsidiary to focus on solar power market

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 15 – MMA Capital Management, LLC announced it formed a new subsidiary, MMA Energy Capital, LLC, which will partner with renewable energy developers, contractors and system owners to provide project capital to develop and build renewable energy systems.

The new subsidiary will be headed by Bob Hopper, a former executive with MMA Renewable Ventures and SunEdison, according to a company news release.

MMA Energy’s primary investment focus will be in the distributed solar power market.

“Project developers are often stalled during the development process by lack of funds to advance their projects into construction, and we believe we have the appropriate mix of industry expertise and project finance knowledge to help our customers complete their projects and realize the economic benefit of their work,” Hopper said.

MMA Capital is a real estate asset management company based in Baltimore.
