S&P changes Western Alliance Bank view

S&P said it revised its outlook on Western Alliance Bank to positive from stable.

The agency also affirmed the BBB-/A-3 long- and short-term issuer credit ratings on the bank.

S&P said the revision reflects a view that if the bank were to maintain improved credit performance stability in its loan portfolio, the agency could reconsider the risk position assessment.

“While the company's loan growth rate remains higher than peers', we believe the better product and geographical diversification in recent years could make the bank less susceptible to economic downturns,” the agency said in a news release.
