By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., Feb. 27 – Landsvirkjun (National Power Co.) has reached an agreement under which Reykjavík Data Center may issue green bonds, according to a press release.

The company and Reykjavík Data Center signed a green power purchase agreement guaranteeing certified renewable energy at the data center.

The electricity covered by the agreement will be delivered from Landsvirkjun's current power system, which has significantly increased its capacity in recent years by introducing new hydropower, geothermal energy and wind power stations to provide renewable energy.

The electricity generator and producer of renewable energy in Europe is based in Reykjavik, Iceland.
