Global Cloud Xchange parent seeks to continue Dec. 4 plan hearing

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Dec. 3 – Global Cloud Xchange indirect parent Reliance Communications Ltd. asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to continue Global Cloud Xchange’s pre-packaged plan confirmation hearing, according to a motion filed Monday.

Reliance said it did not receive a class 7 ballot to allow it to vote on the plan, and it did not find out a ballot had been mailed to it until several weeks after the Oct. 15 voting deadline.

Reliance said it did include a ballot in the objection it filed to confirmation of the plan. The parent company said it wants to have a witness present at the confirmation hearing, but neither of its potential witnesses are able to attend the hearing currently scheduled for Dec. 4.

As a result, Reliance said it is asking the court to continue the hearing for at least one week to allow its potential witnesses, who are both overseas, to attend.

The parent company said it asked Global Cloud Xchange to agree to an adjournment of the plan hearing, but the company refused the request.

The hearing on the continuation request is also scheduled for Dec. 4.

Global Cloud Xchange offers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions customized for carriers, enterprises and new media companies. It is based in London. The company filed bankruptcy on Sept. 15 under Chapter 11 case number 19-12031.
