Fitch rates Zabrze BBB-

Fitch Ratings said it assigned Zabrze a long-term foreign- and local-currency ratings of BBB- and a national long-term rating of A-(pol).

The outlook is stable.

Ratings are based on the city's satisfactory operating performance, currently low debt and debt-servicing ratios and prudent budgetary management, the agency said.

Ratings also consider the city's relatively weaker tax base, a local economy still dominated by heavy industry and the negative impact from the cuts in personal income tax rates from 2009 and global economic turmoil, the agency said.
