Yukos files plan of reorganization

New York, Feb. 11 - Yukos Oil Co. filed a plan of reorganization with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.

The company said the plan explains how "it plans to complete its Chapter 11 case and treat fairly its creditors, shareholders and the Russian government."

Yukos is proposing to set May 1 as the bar date for claims.

If the Russian government files a claim, Yukos wants that claim sent to an international arbitration forum to "ensure fair treatment."

Yukos said the Russian government agreed to this kind of arbitration under its Law on Foreign Investments in the Russian Federation on July 9, 1999.

Yukos filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 14. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-47742.
