Young Broadcasting reports $4.76 million net loss for January period

Pittsburgh, March 5 - Young Broadcasting, Inc. reported a $4.76 million net loss for January on $11.47 million in net operating revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The January loss widened from the $1.27 million net loss posted for December on $15.19 million in net operating revenues.

Young Broadcasting had $22.26 million of cash at Jan. 31, up from $19.96 million at the end of December.

New York-based Young Broadcasting owns 10 television stations and the national representation firm Adam Young Inc. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 13, 2009 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-10645.
