Young Broadcasting reports $2.4 million April net operating income

Pittsburgh, May 26 - Young Broadcasting Inc. reported a $2.4 million net operating income for April on $14.67 million in total operating revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The figures showed a decline from the $3.89 million net operating income posted in March on $15.89 million in total operating revenues.

However, the net income for April was $6.81 million, improved from March's $1.38 million net loss.

The company had $22.51 million in cash at April 30, down from $26.73 million at the end of March.

New York-based Young Broadcasting owns 10 television stations and the national representation firm Adam Young Inc. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 13 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-10645.
