Seidman-led investors to nominate three to Yardville National Bancorp board

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 2 - A group of investors, including Seidman & Associates, LLC, owning roughly 993,000 shares, or 8.99%, of Yardville National Bancorp stock plan to nominate shareholders Patrick A. Robinson, Neal Axelrod and Dennis Pollack to the company's board of directors at its 2007 annual meeting.

The nominees are for the terms expiring in 2010, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission as well as a letter sent to the board by Pollack.

According to the letter, Yardville's 2006 proxy statement stated that the terms for five directors expire in 2007. While seats have been eliminated, Pollack believes at least three seats will be open for election.

The letter seeks a response from the board by Feb. 6, including the number of seats open for election.

Yardville National Bancorp, based in Hamilton, N.J., operates as the bank holding company primarily for The Yardville National Bank services.
