S&P: Wyeth on positive watch, rates notes A

Standard & Poor's said it placed its ratings on Wyeth, including its A corporate credit rating, on CreditWatch with positive implications.

At the same time, S&P said it assigned its A rating to Wyeth's offering of $1.5 billion in senior unsecured notes due 2037 and also placed this rating on CreditWatch with positive implications.

The CreditWatch listing reflects Wyeth's strengthening business profile, with its upcoming schedule of new drug launches and the possibility that the company's long-running diet drug litigation saga is finally nearing its end, the agency added.
