Aletheia Research reports 27.93% stake in WorldSpace

Charlotte, N.C., June 6 - WorldSpace, Inc. investor Aletheia Research & Management, Inc. bought 2,604,582 shares of the company's stock as an investment between April 2 and June 4 for a total of $9,584,696.89, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Aletheia "reserves the right to act in concert with any other shareholders" for a common purpose or to recommend courses of action to WorldSpace management and shareholders, the filing stated.

The investor beneficially owns 11,135,158 shares, or 27.93%, of the Silver Springs, Md., satellite-based radio and broadcasting services company's outstanding stock.
