Wrigley files $2 billion shelf
By Ted A. Knutson
Washington, March 2 - Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. filed a $2 billion shelf registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The S-3 shelf allows the company to issue debt securities, preferred stock, common stock, stock purchase contracts, stock purchase units, warrants and convertibles.
The Chicago-based gum maker said proceeds from offerings authorized by the shelf would be used for general corporate purposes, which may include working capital, capital expenditures, stock repurchases and debt repayment.
