S&P ups Wisconsin Energy outlook to positive

Standard & Poor's said it revised the outlook on natural gas utility holding company Wisconsin Energy Corp. and its subsidiaries, Wisconsin Electric Power Co. and Wisconsin Gas LLC, to positive from stable.

This reflects the expectation that Wisconsin Energy will be financially stronger as construction projects are completed and operating cash flow rises, S&P said.

S&P affirmed the BBB+ corporate rating on Wisconsin Energy, the A- corporate ratings on Wepco and Wisconsin Gas and the A-2 short-term ratings on all three entities.

Wisconsin Energy has about $4.4 billion of debt outstanding.
