Moody's assigns MIG1 to Wisconsin notes

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned the highest rating of MIG1 to the State of Wisconsin's $800 million operating notes of 2008 due June 15, 2009.

This is the state's second consecutive annual issuance of operating notes. The state issued $600 million of operating notes in June 2007.

Prior to that issue, the state generally issued notes each year since 1983, with the last issuance occurring in September 2003.
