Fitch gives A+ to Wisconsin refunding bonds

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an A+ rating to the State of Wisconsin's $965.2 million of general fund annual appropriation refunding bonds, consisting of $366.4 million of series 2008A (taxable fixed-rate) and $598.8 million of series 2008B (taxable floating-rate).

Sale of the bonds is expected by negotiation on March 17.

Fitch also said it affirmed the A+ rating on $1.8 billion of outstanding general fund annual appropriation bonds.

The outlook is stable.
