Fitch gives AA+ to Wisconsin clean water bonds

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an AA+ rating to the State of Wisconsin's approximately $100 million of clean water revenue bonds, 2008 series 1, and $35 million of clean water revenue bonds, 2008 series 2.

The bonds are expected to price the week of Jan. 28.

Fitch also affirmed its AA+ rating on the state's $729.5 million of outstanding clean water revenue bonds.

The outlook is stable.

The state subsidizes about 19% of the program's debt service costs in the form of Wisconsin general obligation debt service payments of outstanding bonds purchased for the program. The state's G.O. debt has a rating of AA-.
