Wilmington Pennsylvania, Virginia municipal bond funds to reorganize

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Sept. 7 - The board of trustees of the Wilmington Funds on June 22 approved the merger of the Wilmington Pennsylvania Municipal Bond Fund and the Wilmington Virginia Municipal Bond Fund into the Wilmington Municipal Bond Fund, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Subject to shareholder approval at a Nov. 15 meeting, the merger will occur on Nov. 30.

Each of the state municipal funds will be closed to new investors on Sept. 7 but may continue to accept purchases from existing shareholders until the last business day before the merger.

Wilmington, Del.-based Wilmington Funds Management Corp., a subsidiary of M&T Bank and formerly Rodney Square Capital Management, is the investment adviser to the funds.
