Moody's lifts Williams to Baa2

Moody's Investors Service said it upgraded the senior unsecured ratings of Williams Partners LP to Baa2 from Baa3 and the senior unsecured ratings of Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Co., LLC and Northwest Pipeline GP to Baa1 from Baa2.

The outlook for all three entities is stable.

Moody's said it also affirmed the Baa3 senior unsecured ratings of the Williams Companies, Inc. and changed its outlook to stable from negative.

"The ratings upgrade of Williams Partners and its pipeline subsidiaries is supported by its growing asset base, strong operating performance and conservative financial policies," Moody's vice president Pete Speer said in a news release.

"Williams Partner's ratings also benefit from the improved consolidated credit profile of Williams following the spin-off of its higher business risk exploration and production subsidiary and meaningful debt reduction," Speer added in the release.
