Williams files automatic shelf

New York, May 19 - The Williams Cos., Inc. filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Covered by the shelf are debt securities, preferred stock, common stock, purchase contracts, warrants and units. Securities may be structured as convertibles.

Williams is a Tulsa, Okla.-based explorer, producer and transporter of natural gas and power.
