Moody's rates Wichita G.O.s Aa2, temporary notes MIG1

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an Aa2 rating to the $10.1 million series 794 general obligation bonds and $4 million series 794A general obligation bonds issued by the city of Wichita, Kan.. Moody's also assigned a MIG1 rating to the city's $94.4 million series 224 general obligation renewal and improvement temporary notes and $9.8 million series 225 notes.

The expected sale date is July 15.

Proceeds will finance capital improvements, including utility system improvements and upgrades to streets and bridges.

Moody's affirmed the Aa2 rating on the city's outstanding long-term general obligation debt. Wichita has $467.1 million of G.O. debt, including the current issues.

The outlook is stable.
