S&P revises Western Digital view to negative

S&P said it revised the outlook for Western Digital Corp. to negative from stable but affirmed the BB+ issuer rating.

“The outlook revision reflects our view that despite current credit metrics that are still weak for the BB+ rating (including adjusted net leverage at 4.3x as of April 3), Western Digital will delever to around 2x in fiscal 2021 (ending in June) given its plan to use cash saved from its suspended dividend to repay debt and EBITDA growth from the flash pricing recovery,” S&P said in a press release.
