Wells Fargo Advantage Growth Fund to close five share classes Jan. 31

San Diego, Dec. 14 - Wells Fargo Advantage Growth Fund will close its class A, class C, administrator class, institutional class and investor class shares to most new investors, effective Jan. 31 at the close of business, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Those who may continue to purchase shares include

• Existing shareholders who wish to add to an existing account through the purchase of additional shares, including the reinvestment of dividends and cash distributions from shares owned in the fund;

• Existing shareholders who wish to open a new account registered in the same name or with the same primary taxpayer identification or social security number;

• Beneficiaries of the fund's shares through an IRA or transfer on death account or recipient of shares through a transfer who wish to use those proceeds to open a new account in the fund;

• Participants in a qualified defined contribution plan or 457 plan that invests in the fund; and

• Sponsors of a retirement plan or benefit plan that currently invests in the closed fund, who may offer the fund as an investment option in other retirement or benefit plans offered by the same company, its subsidiaries and affiliates.

New investors who meet specific criteria may qualify to purchase shares in the fund. For example, new fee-based investment products and/or mutual fund wrap programs that are in the process of investing in the fund and have made their initial investments by March 30 and existing fee-based investment products and/or existing mutual fund wrap programs that currently use the fund in model portfolios may invest in the closed fund. Registered investment advisers who currently offer shares of the fund in their asset allocation programs and new retirement plans and benefit plans will also be able to invest in the closed fund.
