Wells Fargo Advantage Emerging Markets Equity Income preps for launch

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, March 16 - Wells Fargo Funds Trust announced in an N-1A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it is planning a new fund, the Wells Fargo Advantage Emerging Markets Equity Income Fund.

The fund expects to launch on about June 1 with class A and class C shares. Ticker symbols have not yet been set.

The fund will seek long-term capital appreciation and current income. Under normal circumstances, it will invest at least 80% of its net assets across all market capitalizations in equity securities of companies in emerging market countries.

Anthony L.T. Cragg and Alison Shimada will be the portfolio managers.

The maximum sales charge will be 5.75% for class A shares, and class C shares will have instead a maximum deferred sales charge of 1%.

Management fees will be 1.1%, with total annual fund operating expenses coming to 1.65% for class A shares and 2.4% for class C shares.

San Francisco-based Wells Fargo Funds Management, LLC will serve as the investment adviser.
