Wells Fargo files automatic shelf

New York, June 14 - Wells Fargo & Co. filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3ASR with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Covered by the shelf are debt securities, preferred stock, depositary shares, purchase contracts, units, warrants and trust preferred securities. Securities may be structured as convertibles.

The San Francisco-based financial services firm said proceeds will go toward general corporate purposes.
