Wells Fargo to price market-linked securities linked to S&P 500 index

San Luis Obispo, Calif., Jan. 9 - Wells Fargo & Co. plans to price 0% market-linked securities with leveraged upside participation to a cap and buffered downside with multiplier due Jan. 31, 2018 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 200% of the gain, subject to a maximum return of 38% to 42% that will be determined at pricing.
Investors will receive par if the index decreases by up to 15% and will lose about 1.1765% for every 1% drop beyond the 15% buffer.
The notes (Cusip: 94986RSP7) will price Jan. 28 and settle Jan. 31.
