Wells Fargo picks Peter Hill to head public finance investment banking

Knoxville, Tenn., May 7 - Wells Fargo & Co. announced it has named Peter J. Hill head of public finance investment banking.

Hill is based in New York, the planned headquarters of Wells Fargo's public finance investment banking business.

Hill will report to the head of government & institutional banking and municipal products, Phil Smith.

Hill's 25 years of experience in investment banking includes 14 years at J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. as managing director and head of the firm's U.S. public finance department. Before he joined Wells Fargo, Hill was managing director and head of public finance investment banking at Banc of America Securities LLC.

Wells Fargo is a financial services company based in San Francisco.
