S&P puts Welch on watch

Standard & Poor’s said it placed Welch Foods Inc.’s BBB+ corporate credit rating on CreditWatch with negative implications.

Simultaneously, the agency said it removed Welch Foods from "under criteria observation."

The agency said it will assess Welch’s financial risk profile after making certain adjustments to cost of sales for grapes, which the company markets on behalf of its farmer owners.
