Wavecom, Sierra Wireless merger clears waiting period

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 15 - The Federal Trade Commission granted early termination of the Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period in the proposed merger of Wavecom SA and Sierra Wireless, Inc., a government report said.
Wavecom agreed to be acquired by Sierra for €8.50 per ordinary share and €31.93 per Oceane convertible bond, for a total purchase price of about €218 million, it was previously reported.
Sierra is a modem and software company based in Richmond, B.C. Wavecom is an Issy-Les-Moulineaux, France-based wireless communications provider.
