Moody's: Washington Post under review

Moody's Investors Service said it placed the Washington Post Co.'s A2 senior unsecured and Prime-1 commercial paper ratings on review for possible downgrade.

The agency said the review is prompted by ongoing enrollment and earnings pressure at Kaplan and an updated assessment of the effectiveness of the Washington Post's business diversity for mitigating volatility of consolidated operating results and Washington Post's ability to achieve and sustain the credit metrics anticipated in the existing ratings.
