Markit announces indexes affected by WaMu collapse

Tacoma, Wash., Sept. 30 - Markit Group Ltd. said three of its indexes have been affected by the failure of Washington Mutual, Inc.

The affected indexes are series 8, 9 and 10 of the Markit CDX North America Investment Grade and Markit CDX North America Investment Grade Financials indexes and series 9 and 10 of the Markit CDX North America Investment Grade High Volatility index.

In addition, series 1 though 7 of the Dow Jones CDX North America Investment Grade and Dow Jones CDX North America Investment Grade Financials indexes were affected. Markit is the administration agent for these indexes.

Markit provides independent data, portfolio valuations and over-the-counter derivatives trade processing to the financial markets.
