Washington Gas Light plans to sell 30-year fixed-rate notes

Knoxville, Tenn., Jan. 10 – Washington Gas Light Co. intends to price fixed-rate medium-term notes, series L, due Jan. 15, 2049, according to a 424B5 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes have a make-whole call until July 15, 2048 and will be callable at par after that date.

BB&T Capital Markets is the agent.

Settlement is expected in January.

Proceeds will be used to refinance commercial paper, which was used to repay at maturity $50 million of the company’s 7.464% medium-term notes due Dec. 5, 2018.

Washington Gas is a Washington, D.C.-based natural gas utility.
