Fitch rates Disney notes A

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an A rating to Walt Disney Co.'s proposed senior note offering.

The outlook is stable.

Proceeds are expected to be used for general corporate purposes.

The ratings consider Disney's strong financial flexibility, the cyclicality of the company's businesses, strong multi-year performance at Disney's cable networks, consistent ability to leverage and monetize its brands and characters across all aspects of its business and the inherent volatility of the company's Studio Entertainment business, the agency said.

Disney has an A issuer default rating, A senior debt rating, F1 short-term issuer default rating and F1 commercial paper rating.
