Wachovia promotes three managing directors

By Reshmi Basu

New York, Feb. 21 - Wachovia Corp. said it promoted three managing directors to expand its expertise in new geographic areas within emerging markets.

The bank has promoted Dilek Mutus to head its newly created Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa group.

Mutus will oversee the company's activities for the region from her office in Istanbul.

Chuck Silverman will now lead the Indian Sub-Continent and Southeast Asia area group. He will supervise the group from his Philadelphia office.

And Jim Ho will head up the Greater China and OECD Asia area group.

All three groups fall under Wachovia's global financial institutions and trade group, a part of the corporate and investment banking group.
