Wachovia to price 0% principal-protected notes linked to Asian currencies

New York, Nov. 2 - Wachovia Corp. plans to price an issue of 0% principal-protected notes due 2008 linked to a basket of Asian currencies, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The underlying basket includes equal weights of the Japanese yen, the Chinese renminbi, the Singapore dollar, the Indonesian rupiah, the Philippine peso and the Indian rupee, all relative to the dollar.

The notes will price at par of $10.00.

At maturity, investors will receive the greater of par or the basket performance amount.

Wachovia applied to list the notes under "AWO" on the American Stock Exchange.

Wachovia Securities will be the underwriter.
