S&P may lower Vulcan Materials

Standard & Poor's said it placed the A- corporate credit and senior unsecured ratings on Vulcan Materials Co. and its subsidiary Legacy Vulcan Corp. on CreditWatch with negative implications.

S&P said the watch reflects increasing concerns that weakening commercial construction activity, the current housing downturn and uncertainty regarding future infrastructure spending will further erode the company' end-market demand and operating performance over the next several quarters.
