Fitch gives Virginia Electric notes A

Fitch Ratings said it gave an A rating to Virginia Electric and Power Co.’s (VEPCo) offering of 2022 series A senior notes due in 2032. Additionally, Fitch rates VEPCo's reopening of 2021 series B 2.95% senior notes due in 2051 A.

The ratings are consistent with Fitch’s ratings on VEPCo’s other senior unsecured notes.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes and to repay short-term debt, which included $786 million of commercial paper as of Dec. 29.

The outlook is stable.
