Fitch: Some concerns for Vietnamese banks

Fitch Ratings said in a new report on the Vietnamese banking system that the fiscal stimulus measures, including the interest-rate subsidy scheme in which the government provides a 4% level of support for interest-expense on domestic currency loans, should help support loan quality.

However, the agency said it remains concerned with the Vietnamese banks' profitability and balance-sheet strength given the potential for significant credit costs in a challenging economic outlook, the agency said.
