Viacom repays $1.35 billion of notes, debentures in fiscal year 2019

Knoxville, Tenn., Nov. 14 – Viacom Inc. repaid $1.35 billion of senior notes and debentures in the past year, including $220 million that matured in September.
“Over the course of the year, [we continued] our focus on deleveraging the company and strengthening our balance sheet,” executive vice president and chief financial officer Wade Davis said on the company’s fourth quarter and year ended Sept. 30 earnings conference call on Thursday.
“During the year, we repaid $1.4 billion of senior notes and debentures, including $220 million that matured in September,” he said.
Free cash was $1.4 billion for the year.
Cash and cash equivalents were $760 million as of Sept. 30, 2019, compared to $1,557,000,000 as of Sept. 30, 2018.
As of Sept. 30, outstanding gross debt was $8.74 billion. Adjusted gross debt was $8.09 billion.
Viacom is a New York-based media company.
