S&P places Viacom on positive watch

S&P said it placed Viacom Inc.’s ratings, including the company’s BBB- issuer credit rating, on CreditWatch positive, citing the merger agreement with CBS Corp.

“This merger modestly improves our assessment for the strength of the combined companies' business. The two companies' assets are complementary and there is little overlap,” said S&P in a press release.
