S&P rates Viacom notes BBB+

Standard & Poor's said it assigned Viacom Inc.'s proposed $500 million in aggregate 10-year senior notes and 30-year senior debentures a BBB+ issue-level rating.

The ratings on Viacom Inc. reflect the company's well-positioned cable TV networks, strong cash flow generation and liquidity, and moderate financial policy. S&P said it regards Viacom's business risk profile as "satisfactory," based on its criteria.

S&P said it views the company's financial risk as "intermediate."
