Verizon files automatic shelf registration covering debt securities

Knoxville, Tenn., March 22 - Verizon Communications Inc. filed a debt securities automatic shelf registration in an S-3 ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Proceeds from the securities, which may be structured as convertibles, will be used for repaying debt, making capital investments, working capital requirements or other general corporate purposes.
Verizon is a New York-based broadband and telecommunications company.
