Venezuela announces third buyback of bonds

New York, April 16 - The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela announced its third buyback of sovereign debt.

Issues covered by the offer are a range of securities maturing from May 10, 2004 to Dec. 1, 2005. Prices range from 100 for the shortest maturity to 98.375 for the longest.

Offers to sell bonds will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 20 with results of the buyback being announced shortly after. Settlement is scheduled for April 21.

The minimum size for offers to sell is Bs. 10 million.
