S&P gives BBB- to Validus preferreds

S&P said it assigned its BBB- preferred stock rating to Validus Holdings Ltd.’s proposed issuance of perpetual noncumulative preferred stock.

Although Validus Holdings can call these notes in 2021, S&P said it expects the funds raised to remain a long-term feature of VR’s capital structure.
