Validus Holdings files automatic shelf covering stock, debt securities

Knoxville, Tenn., Aug. 5 - Validus Holdings, Ltd. filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3 ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers common shares, preference shares, depositary shares, debt securities, warrants, share purchase contracts, share purchase units and units.

Proceeds from the securities, which may be structured as convertibles, will be used for general corporate purposes.

The issuer provides reinsurance and insurance through subsidiaries and is based in Pembroke, Bermuda.
