Vale files automatic shelf registration covering debt securities

Knoxville, Tenn., Oct. 23 - Vale SA and Vale Overseas Ltd. jointly filed a debt securities and guarantees automatic shelf registration in an F-3-ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

Rio de Janeiro-based Vale is a diversified metals and mining company.
