By Jeff Pines

Washington, June 8 - USG Corp. now has the exclusive right to file a reorganization plan until Dec. 1, according to filing Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The order also extends the company's exclusive right to solicit votes for a plan until Feb. 1.

The hearing was held May 24 and the judge signed the order June 3.

USG, a Chicago-based sheetrock maker, filed for Chapter 11 on July 25, 2001 due to asbestos litigation claims. Its Chapter 11 case number is 01-2094.
