US Airways wins more time from GE to reorganize

By Ellen Chang

Houston, Feb. 14 - US Airways Group, Inc. obtained more time to reorganize from GE Capital Aviation Services and GE Engine Services.

The company now has until March 15 to file a plan of reorganization with the bankruptcy court instead of a Feb. 15 deadline.

The revised schedule is more consistent with the court's granting US Airways exclusive rights to file a plan through March 31, the company noted.

US Airways said it still plans to emerge from Chapter 11 no later than June 30.

The Arlington, Va.-based carrier filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 12 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-13819.
