Uroplasty obtains Canadian clearance for Urgent PC neurostimulation device

By Angela McDaniels

Seattle, Oct. 27 - Uroplasty, Inc. said it has received product licenses from the Canadian Therapeutic Products Directorate for the Urgent PC Neuromodulation System.

The company said these licenses will allow it to market the neurostimulation device in Canada for treatment of fecal incontinence and overactive bladder symptoms including urinary urgency, urinary frequency and urge incontinence.

Urgent PC is the only minimally invasive nerve stimulation device suitable for out-patient use, the company said.

President and chief executive officer Sam B. Humphries said the device received marketing clearance in the United States last week.

Uroplasty is a medical device company based in Minneapolis that develops products for the treatment of voiding dysfunctions.
