New Issue: University of Alabama sells $141.68 million general revenue bonds

New York, Oct. 27 - The University of Alabama at Birmingham priced $141.675 million in series 2010 general revenue bonds, according to a pricing sheet.

The bonds were sold on a competitive basis Wednesday, but calls to the issuer were not returned by press time.

The sale included $53.57 million in series 2010A bonds, $52.245 million in series 2010B bonds and $35.68 million in series 2010C bonds.

The 2010A bonds are due 2011 to 2034 with term bonds due 2037 and 2040. Serial coupons range from 2% to 5%. The 2037 bonds have a 4.375% coupon priced at 98.826. The 2040 bonds have a 4.5% coupon priced at par.

The 2010B bonds are due 2011 to 2030 with term bonds due 2034 and 2040. The serial coupons range from 1% to 5.2%, all priced at par. The 2034 bonds have a 5.75% coupon priced at par, and the 2040 bonds have a 5.8% coupon priced at 98.596.

The 2010C bonds are due 2011 to 2027 with 2% to 5% coupons.

Proceeds will be used to construct a steam plant at the university and refund its series 2001 bonds.
