UnitedHealth files automatic shelf registration for debt securities

Knoxville, Tenn., Feb. 14 - UnitedHealth Group Inc. filed a debt securities automatic shelf registration in an S-3 ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Proceeds from the securities, which may be structured as convertibles, will be used for working capital, to redeem or repurchase securities, refinance debt, finance acquisitions or for other general corporate purposes.

UnitedHealth is a Minnetonka, Minn.-based health care company.
